The Mission, Vision, And Values of Grace Lutheran Church
Come, Grow with us!
A Congregation of the ELCA
Lincoln, CA 95648
|
| OUR MISSION |
Grace Lutheran Church is called by God:
- to build a loving and caring community;
- to share the good news of Jesus Christ;
- to make a difference by serving our neighbors and the world.
|
| OUR NAME |
-
The name Grace:
- honors the great love God has for all people in the gift of his son, Jesus Christ.
God showers grace upon His people each day through:
- the gift of the Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion whereby God calls and strengthens those whom he makes his own;
- the forgiveness of sins;
- the mutual conversation and consolation of the faithful through prayer.
Each day we learn that we are not alone , nor need we rely only on our own small resources for life,
for we are surrounded by the love of God in Christ Jesus.

| OUR CHURCH AFFILIATION |
|
|
Grace began in 1986 as a group of young Lutheran families worshipping in the Episcopal Church on Sunday evenings with Pastor Roger Vegdahl from Bethel Lutheran Church in Roseville. All through these years the congregation was referred to as the "Lincoln Mission."
During the next four years , Grace was served by interns supervised by Pastor Ray Olson of Advent Lutheran in Citrus Heights. In 1987 a "Live Nativity" was staged on Christmas Eve as an outreach to the community.
